In case you decide spontaneously to continue travelling to a further destination which is not covered by your present ticket, you will need another  ticket to continue this trip.

This extension ticket has to be validated at the latest at the last station of the area of validity of your present ticket, but may be already validated at the beginning of the trip or when changing vehicle.

For owners of season tickets and for IsarCard subscribers there has been created a special extension ticket to season tickets, available from ticket machines and via handy for single trips outside the area of validity of the season ticket.

• The extension ticket allows for the first time to buy a ticket where the already paid zones of the season tickets are taken into consideration.
• The extension ticket is valid for a single trip in direction of the final destination. Changing vehicles and interruption of trips are allowed but not return trips.
• The extension ticket is valid from the time of acquisition the following 3 hours.
• Children are not eligible to travel for free with the extension ticket.
• The extension ticket has to be purchased before reaching the limit of the area of validity  of the season ticket and is only valid in combination with the already paid season ticket.

Example for a season ticket IsarCard Zone M already bought:

You have already the IsarCard Zone M and you want to go to the airport, which is positioned in Zone 5 outside zone M. The trip to the airport may be completed with a extension ticket for 5 zones outside zone M. You simply deduce the zone M already bought from the zones M - 5 rings which are required otherwise.
